Biography:
Maysam Makhmalbaf
Born on July 30th 1981, in Tehran. He is born to a family of filmmakers. He is the brother of Samira & Hana Makhmalbaf and his father is the celebrated Mohsen Makhmalbaf.
He studied cinema for 8 years in Makhmalbaf Film school. He directed his first documentary titled “How Samira Made The Blackboard” in 2000.
Maysam has been active in film industry as, Still photographer, Cinematographer, Editor, Documentary maker and Producer. One of the recent film he has produced is the feature by Hana Makhmalbaf “Buddha Collapsed Out Of Shame”, which has won more than 17 international awards including the Chrystal Bear from Berlin Film Festival, Grand Jury Award from San Sebastian.... and has been nominated for the Best Asian Film Award from Hong Kong Film Festival.
